CELEBRITY DESIGNER PARTNERS WITH HABITAT ORLANDO

October 2, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CELEBRITY DESIGNER PARTNERS WITH HABITAT ORLANDO
AT SOUTHERN WOMEN’S SHOW

Orlando, Fla. – Robb Mariani, celebrity designer and finalist of HGTV’s Design Star reality show, is partnering with Habitat for Humanity Orlando for this year’s Southern Women’s Show, which will be held October 9 - 12 at the Orlando Convention Center.

During the event, Mariani will show attendees how they can decorate their homes with new and gently used furniture, artwork and household items gathered from the Habitat Orlando ReStore – a retail facility operated by Habitat for Humanity Orlando. He will also demonstrate his design expertise and provide re-modeling tips during his daily presentation, “Doing More With Home Décor.”

Mariani was a finalist during the second season of Design Star, HGTV’s most-watched show. Each week, he was challenged to create appealing interior designs from less-than-impressive initial spaces – while working under tight deadlines and small budgets. After completing a series of tough designs, Mariani was one of the final four contestants.

“Transforming a room from dull to dazzling requires a solid assessment of the space, a vision for its creative potential and the right materials to enhance those ideas. Using quality items from the Habitat Orlando ReStore is a fun, innovative design challenge for me – and a unique way to support Habitat Orlando.”

The Habitat Orlando ReStore sells quality new and used surplus building materials, appliances, furniture and other household products to the public, for a fraction of the original cost (anywhere from 30-70 percent off retail prices). Items from the store will be available for purchase at this year’s Southern Women’s Show, with one hundred percent of the profits benefitting Habitat Orlando.
